Thrissur Pooram
The much-famed annual temple festival of Kerala, Thrissur Pooram, held in the Malayalam month of medam (April-May) at the Vadakkumnathan Temple (Thrissur district) is the cynosure of all eyes, attracting people from all around the world. With an elegant display of caparisoned elephants, spectacular fireworks and percussion performances (Ilanjithara Melam), this 'mother of all festivals' is undoubtedly a visual and auditory treat to the spectators!
