Velakali performance in front of Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple in connection with Painkuni festival that falls in March-April. For residents of Thiruvananthapuram, the beats of Velakali, the huge effigies of the five Pandavas that are put up before the eastern gate of the temple and of the Aarattu procession to Shankhumguham is a tradition which they follow without any fail.
